Artist Bio

Josh Colosky is an accomplished guitarist and private music teacher based in Juneau, Alaska. His proficiency spans various musical styles and genres, including classical, flamenco, rock, blues, metal, soul, surf, and bluegrass among others. Josh holds a Bachelor of Science in Classical Guitar from Central Michigan University.

Josh’s performance career is diverse, touring as the lead guitarist for the rock band Finding Clyde, opening for legends such as Donald Kinsey of Bob Marley and the Wailers, Ace Frehley of KISS, Skidrow, Cinderella, Shinedown, and Godsmack. He  also toured with Michigan’s only Balkan-klezmer Gypsy band, Kavazabava,  played notable venues including opening for Billy Strings.

Throughout his time in Alaska, Josh has performed with a variety of local bands, including Trolls in the Valley, Spondonicles, Dunch, Pilgrims of the Soul, The Psychotics, Anel y los Vatos, among others.

In addition to performing Josh is passionate about teaching. For over fifteen years, he has provided private and group guitar lessons to students of all ages, focusing on blending technical skills with music theory and creative expression, encouraging students to develop their own unique voice on the instrument.

Currently, Josh is actively performing, and teaching private and group lessons via Zoom, and at his Sonic Mountain Studio in Haines, Alaska.
