Studio Policy

Sonic Mountain Studio operates on a semester-based enrollment system. Students enroll for full or spring semester and reserve a recurring weekly lesson time.

Fall Semester: Mid-August – early December
(15 weeks)
Spring Semester: January – early May
(15 weeks)

By enrolling for a semester, you are committing to the full term and the tuition associated with your reserved lesson time.

Tuition is based on the reserved lesson time, not individual attendance. Your weekly time is held specifically for you throughout the semester and cannot be offered to another student.

Tuition & Payment Options

Current private lesson rates:

  • 30-minute lesson: $40

  • 60-minute lesson: $80

Family and partner lessons are available at separate package rates and are priced based on the number of students and lesson format.

Semester tuition may be paid in one of the following ways:

• Full semester payment — 10% discount
• Two scheduled semester payments —
10% discount
• Monthly payments — regular tuition rate

The 10% semester discount applies only to students who commit to the full semester and pay either in full or according to an agreed-upon two-payment schedule.

Monthly payments do not receive the semester discount.

Monthly payments are due by the 7th of each month. Full and installment payments are due according to the payment schedule established at enrollment.

Studio Holidays & Scheduled Breaks

All scheduled studio holidays and breaks will be established at the beginning of each semester. Semester tuition is calculated with these scheduled breaks already taken into account.

Tuition will not be adjusted for scheduled studio closures or holidays.

Missed Lessons & Cancellations

Because tuition reserves a specific weekly lesson time, missed lessons are not refunded or rescheduled.

Students are encouraged to notify Josh in advance if they will be absent. While make-up lessons are not offered, Josh may provide a short video lesson, practice assignment, or other supplemental material when appropriate.

No-shows are not eligible for refunds or additional lessons.

Online Lesson Option

If a student cannot attend their regularly scheduled in-person lesson but would still like to have their lesson, they may request an online lesson with at least 24 hours’ notice.

Online lessons are subject to the same scheduled lesson time and are not additional lessons.

Teacher Cancellations

If Josh must cancel a scheduled lesson, a short video lesson or supplemental material will be provided whenever practical.

When appropriate, an online lesson may also be arranged.

Every effort will be made to provide equivalent instruction, but refunds are not issued for teacher cancellations.

Materials & Additional Charges

Books, instructional materials, event registrations, workshops, and other additional services are not included in regular tuition unless specifically stated.

For monthly payment plans, additional charges may be added to the next invoice. Students paying tuition in full may receive a separate invoice.

All invoices must be paid by the stated due date.

Late Payments

Invoices that remain unpaid for 8 days or more will be subject to a 5% late fee.

Continued failure to make payments may result in suspension or termination of lessons.

Withdrawal & Termination

Students may choose to stop attending lessons at any time. However, enrollment is a semester commitment, and tuition remains due for the full semester.

No refunds or credits will be issued for early withdrawal, missed lessons, changes in personal schedules, or unused lesson time.

Sonic Mountain Studio reserves the right to terminate enrollment if tuition is consistently unpaid, attendance is excessively inconsistent, or a student or family member engages in inappropriate or disruptive behavior.
