Studio Policy
Billing & Payment:
Sonic Mountain Studio uses a tuition-based payment system. This means that lessons are not billed individually; instead, students pay a flat monthly tuition. Tuition functions similarly to a membership fee. It secures your recurring weekly lesson time (reserved just for you), gives you access to your teacher for questions and resources, provides early registration for future semesters, and makes you eligible to participate in workshops, recitals, competitions, festivals, and other events. Our approach to music education goes far beyond the minutes spent in your weekly lesson. Lesson preparation, planning, continued teacher training, and communication with families all contribute to a comprehensive educational experience. A monthly tuition system reflects the value of this broader support. It also simplifies administrative work, giving teachers more time to invest back into their students.
Please Read Carefully: the following outlines the tuition payment process and attendance policies. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Josh Colosky at sonicmountainstudio@gmail.com before agreeing to the terms.

Tuition Commitment
Enrollment in lessons is by semester, defined as follows:
Fall Semester: September – December ( 15 weeks )
Spring Semester: January – May ( 25 weeks )
By registering for a semester, you are committing to complete the full term and tuition payments for that period.
Payment options are:
One-time full payment, due by your first lesson of the semester.
Monthly payments are due by the 7th of each month.
By reserving a weekly lesson time, you agree to pay for that time slot through the end of the semester. Changes in your personal schedule, or a decision to discontinue lessons, do not release you from your financial commitment. No refunds will be issued for missed lessons or early withdrawal.
Materials & Additional Charges
Any additional materials or event registrations will be billed separately from tuition:
For monthly payers, these charges will be added to your next invoice.
For those who pay in full, a separate invoice will be issued as needed.
All invoices must be paid by the due date listed.
Studio Holidays & Breaks
Holiday breaks will be set in advance at the start of each semester, Tuition amounts are calculated with these breaks in mind and will not be adjusted for scheduled studio closures.
Missed Lessons & Make-Up Policy
If a student will be absent, they must notify their teacher in advance either via email or by marking the absence on the MyMusicStaff calendar. Individual lessons will not be rescheduled or refunded. Teachers may offer make-up lesson times at their discretion, based on availability. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and are offered as a courtesy only. No-shows are not eligible for make-ups. If a teacher cancels a lesson, a make-up option will be provided. Refunds are not offered for teacher absences, but we will make every effort to arrange a convenient make-up time.

Cancellations

If a student is available at their regularly schedule lesson time but is unable to make it to the studio, an online lesson may be substituted if the teacher is informed at least 24 hours in advance of the lesson.
If the teacher is unable to make a lesson, they will contact all students by text, call or email. No refunds will be given. In most cases, a make-up day will be arranged by the teacher.
Pre-designated make-up days or events may be offered at the discretion of the teacher but are not guaranteed.
"No-show" absences will not be offered a make-up day. Make-up lessons cannot be re-scheduled once registered. Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy and are not guaranteed.
Termination
If a student wishes to discontinue lessons, they may do so at any time by informing the teacher. However, payment for the full semester is still required. Failure to attend lessons does not excuse payment.
Sonic Mountain Studio reserves the right to terminate the lessons of any student if the student or a family member acts inappropriately, is excessively absent with no explanation, or if tuition payments are not made on time.
